ABOUT THE TEACHER

Since early childhood, Martha has been interested in working with clay. She studied with many well-known potters and soon developed her own unique style: a combination of wheel, coil, slab and pinch techniques that is sculptural in nature.

For 13 years, Martha produced and hosted the television show Pottery Shop, and was a frequent guest on Peppermint Place, a popular children's television show in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She also helped produce a multi-part video series on pottery for instructors and beginning pottery students, which can be purchased on this site.

Martha teaches both child and adult pottery classes and provides pottery demonstrations to schools, churches, civic organizations, scouts and garden clubs. Her most memorable demonstration experiences were those given in Northern Ireland and to the Havasupai Indian Tribe living in the Grand Canyon.
